Information About Our Use of Cookies
This notice explains which cookies and similar technologies Astramio Bilişim Teknolojileri Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş. ("Astramio", "we") uses on www.astramio.com and app.astramio.com, why we use them, and how you can control them. It supplements our Privacy Policy.
It is written to meet the Turkish Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 and the Personal Data Protection Board's Guideline on Cookie Practices of June 2022, the EU ePrivacy Directive (Article 5(3)) with the GDPR, and the UK Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations.
1. What cookies and similar technologies are
A cookie is a small text file a website places in your browser. Similar technologies include browser local storage, session storage, pixels and software development kits. In this notice we call all of them "cookies" unless the distinction matters.
- First-party cookies are set by our own domains. Third-party cookies are set by another company whose content appears on our pages.
- Session cookies expire when you close the browser. Persistent cookies stay for a set period.
2. Our approach
We keep the marketing website nearly cookie-free. We use no advertising, retargeting, cross-site tracking or session-recording tools on www.astramio.com. We only set what is needed for the site and the platform to work, and we ask for your consent before anything else.
Strictly necessary cookies are used without consent because they are required to provide a service you have asked for, under KVKK Article 5(2)(c) and (f) and the ePrivacy Article 5(3) exemption. Every other category is switched off until you turn it on. Where no optional category is in use, no banner is shown.
3. Cookies we currently use
3.1 Marketing website (www.astramio.com)
| Name | Type | Set by | Purpose | Duration | Consent needed |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
swal-initiation (local storage) | Strictly necessary | Astramio | Remembers that you have already dismissed an on-site announcement so it is not shown again | Until you clear browser storage | No |
YouTube player cookies, for example YSC and VISITOR_INFO1_LIVE | Third-party media | Google / YouTube | Set when an embedded video is loaded or played; used by YouTube for playback and its own analytics | Session to 6 months | Yes, where set before you interact with the player |
Vimeo player cookies, for example vuid | Third-party media | Vimeo | Set when an embedded video is loaded or played; used by Vimeo for playback statistics | Up to 2 years | Yes, where set before you interact with the player |
The website also loads fonts from Google Fonts. This does not set a cookie, but it does send your IP address to Google when a page loads.
Our server keeps short-lived request logs, including IP address, time and page, for security and rate limiting. That is server-side processing, not a cookie, and is described in the Privacy Policy.
3.2 Platform (app.astramio.com)
The platform sets the following categories. The exact cookie names, values and lifetimes are listed in the cookie settings panel inside the application, which is always the authoritative list.
| Category | Set by | Purpose | Typical duration | Consent needed |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Sign-in session | Astramio | Keeps you signed in and protects your session against hijacking | Session, or up to 30 days if you choose "stay signed in" | No |
| Security tokens | Astramio | Prevents cross-site request forgery and detects unusual sign-in activity | Session | No |
| Preferences | Astramio | Remembers language, theme and workspace layout you have chosen | 12 months | No, because it only stores a choice you made |
| Payment and fraud prevention | Our payment processor, on the checkout page only | Completing card payments securely | Session | No |
| Product analytics | Astramio or a monitoring provider acting for us | Aggregated usage and error reports to improve features | Up to 13 months | Yes |
Analytics cookies are off until you accept them in the settings panel. The platform never sets advertising cookies.
4. Categories we do not use, and what changes if we do
- Advertising and targeting cookies: none. If we ever add them, they will be off by default, listed in the table above, and you will be asked for explicit consent with an equally easy "Reject all" option. Under the KVKK Guideline, ePrivacy rules and ICO guidance, a banner that only offers "Accept" is not valid consent.
- Social-media plug-ins that track you: none. Sharing icons are plain links.
- "Do Not Track" and Global Privacy Control: because we set no tracking cookies on the website, there is nothing for these signals to switch off. Inside the platform, a Global Privacy Control signal is treated as a rejection of analytics cookies.
5. How to control cookies
- Settings panel: inside the platform you can accept or reject each optional category and reopen your choices at any time from the "Cookie settings" link in the footer. Withdrawing consent is as easy as giving it.
- Browser settings: every major browser lets you block or delete cookies and local storage. Instructions for Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge.
- Embedded videos: to avoid YouTube or Vimeo cookies entirely, do not play embedded videos, or use your browser's third-party cookie blocking.
- Blocking strictly necessary cookies will stop you from signing in to the platform.
6. Personal data collected through cookies
Where a cookie contains or is linked to personal data, for example a session identifier tied to your account, that data is processed as described in the Privacy Policy, including the sections on legal bases, international transfers, retention and your rights. Third parties named above process data under their own notices: Google and Vimeo.
7. Changes
We update this notice when we add or remove cookies or when the rules change. The date at the bottom of this page shows the current version. Adding any optional cookie category will be accompanied by a new consent request.
8. Contact
Questions about cookies or your data: [email protected], or the postal address in the Privacy Policy.
